Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2025
Saffron does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Your recipes stay on your device and in your iCloud account — nowhere else.
What data we collect
Nothing. Saffron does not collect any personal information, usage analytics, crash reports, or identifiers. We have no backend servers that store user data.
Recipe extraction
When you paste a URL to extract a recipe, Saffron sends that URL to a Cloudflare Worker. The worker fetches the webpage and passes its text to an AI model to extract the recipe. No personal information is included in this request — only the public URL you provided.
The extracted recipe is returned to your device and stored locally. Nothing is retained on the worker after the response is sent.
Local storage
All recipes, images, and lists are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use iCloud sync.
iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your recipes are stored in your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. Saffron has no access to your iCloud data — it is managed entirely by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
No analytics or tracking
Saffron does not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or advertising networks. We have no way to track how you use the app.
No ads
Saffron contains no advertisements and does not use your data for advertising purposes.
Children's privacy
Saffron does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, there is nothing specific to children's data to disclose.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
